Could be better....

This video is a video posted on abcnews.com. There are many things that can be improved within this video to make it a better source of multimedia. I think it would have been better if the picture of the little girl was not blurred out. I don't understand why you would even show a picture if the viewer is unable to see the face of the person you are showing. Another thing that could have made this video better would be if there were captions on the screen when a different person is speaking. I watched the video twice and was unable to understand who one of the people interviewed was. As for things done well, the audio was very clear and the storyline was concise.

Murder Case

On CNN.com, I watched this video about a Murder Case coming to an end. I think this is a good example of multimedia. The video is done well and a good length for the topic. I think it sums up the situation and lets people know whats going on without forcing them to go back and read multiple articles. I like how there is video of things going on with the reporters voice talking over it. I think this allows viewers to see what is actually happening rather than just staring at someone talking. If I was the creator of this video I would have changed the part where the reporter is shown speaking in the middle of the city. I think it is extremely distracting from the video to see all of the people walking past in the background staring at the reporter and the camera.

I did like the way the video opened as well as the first line. I like how it showed the situation and the first statement said was like a hook to grab viewers and keep them.

Go Blue!!

I am a huge University of Michigan fan. Maybe it's because the atmosphere there is so different than the atmosphere at Ferris- maybe it's just because there are so many more people. Either way, I always find that there are a number of things to get excited about when visiting there.

I was not lucky enough to score a ticket to the Notre Dame Football Game that happened a little over a week ago. However, I found a video on the Michigan Daily's website giving me a quick tease of the experience I could have had if I would have been able to make it down to Ann Arbor that day.

I think this video does a great job of showing off U of M's school pride, as well as the atmosphere everyone was enjoying that day. Energy was high and in this video, you can DEFINITELY tell. I like how throughout the video, there was no added music or voices, it was made almost to show the viewer what it would have been like to be there in person. I liked that there was no one-on-one interview in it, and that it didnt center on one important thing happening. I like that the video showed the day events, as well as how the camera took different angles for each event.

Man, I would have been in Heaven if I could have been able to go, for now... I think I'll settle with that video.

A bad example of Multimedia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh6UNVDOeY0

This is a video my friend had to make his freshman year of college for one of his classes. The assignment was to portray emotion without communicating in the video, all that could be used were sounds. He asked for my help making this, and looking back, it's pretty embarrassing. I think this video could have been better with more light in the picture, as well as more dramatic sounds. Also, some background music would have made the anticipation in the video have a stronger feeling.

A Good example of Multimedia

In my personal opinion, this video is a good example of multimedia. After watching this video, and videos that are similar to it, I automatically want to donate ALL of my money for the fund to help stop animal cruelty. With the choice of background music being sad and slow, it really creates that perfect mood for viewers to feel sympathy for animals who are abused. The video's taken are slow, and the animals in each of the pictures show sadness. This really triggers the correct emotion the creators are aiming for people to feel.
